The casino

The floor is a comfortable mid-sized room — a fair table spread, a poker room with a steady local following and plenty of slots — that does its job without any grand ambitions. It's an honest, friendly floor for a relaxed few hours rather than a destination in itself.

The crowd is mostly locals and travellers passing through, which keeps the mood low-key and the tables approachable. Serious players will out-grow it quickly, but for an easy evening's play attached to a comfortable bed, it's more than enough.

The rooms

The rooms are the quiet strength here — genuinely spacious, well-kept and better than the modest rate implies, with suites that are a real bargain for a family or a longer stay. This is inn comfort, not boutique flair, and it's very good at it.

Because it doubles as a conference hotel it's built for a good night's sleep, with solid soundproofing and reliable service. Don't expect a view or a resort's array of amenities; expect a big, comfortable, dependable room a few steps from a floor.

Dining & the extras

Dining runs to a restaurant, a proper pub and casual options — hearty and fairly priced rather than destination fare — with live music adding some weekend life. The extras lean practical: extensive banquet and conference space that makes it a workhorse for Calgary events.

There's no spa, no lake, no mountain view, and the property is upfront about that. What it offers instead is space, ease and value — everything under one roof, a short drive from anywhere in the city or the airport.

Location & value

Its location off the Deerfoot Trail and near the airport is the whole pitch: easy in, easy out, easy parking. For a Calgary stopover, an event or a no-fuss night out, that convenience is worth a lot.

Value is where it truly wins — comfortable rooms and a decent floor for less than most of the city, which is exactly why it stays busy. Book it when you want dependable and well-priced, not grand.
